TOWN HALL on the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S TRAVEL BAN and EXPANSION OF FEDERAL DETENTION/DEPORTATION

Do you have questions about the Trump Administration's Revised Executive Order denying entry of certain persons from six designated countries? Did you know that the Order allows more countries to be added to the ban? Or the ban to be extended beyond the current 90 day period? 

Or do you have questions regarding the revised priorities for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents on detention and deportation of undocumented persons? 

We will have a number of organizations providing information: 

1.    ACLU
A staff attorney from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) will explain the Travel Ban and the Expansion of Detention/Deportation Efforts by ICE Agents. Additional topics will include new patterns of Federal enforcement of immigration laws and a primer to “Know Your Rights” regarding these laws and if you encounter ICE agents. 

2.    LA City and County Offices of Immigrant Affairs
Representatives from the County Office of Immigrant Affairs and the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs will discuss their initiatives, including the new $10 million LA Justice Fund to provide legal defense for immigration issues.
