It’s official. The local Wells Fargo Bank branch (3250 Glendale Blvd) pulled the welcome mat on Atwater’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. In a letter to event organizers the bank’s district manager, Ms. Luanna Lindsey, declared the yearly Atwater tradition a “safety risk” to their “customers and neighbors” and abruptly declined the use of their parking lot for the event.
Wells Fargo, which has assets in excess of 1.9 trillion dollars, has not limited their “bah-humbug” attitude to just the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Reportedly, they’ve already denied the use of their parking lot for next year’s Pancake Breakfast and are pushing the weekly Farmers’ Market to relocate shortly. Bah-humbug indeed.
